How Vine Can Help

If you have a mission project in Guatemala, or know of one you want to support by shipping them aid, here are ways we may be able to help.

  • Our warehouse-distribution facility in Guatemala has primarily medical aid that is available to approved mission projects as a donation.  The approval process happens in Guatemala & Dennis Rice should be contacted there at ddrice@vineinternational.org – or by cell phone at (502) 5990-6040.  Once approved, your mission project is always invited to browse the warehouse & receive what we have available - by appointment, please.
  • If you have a mission project you want to send aid to, you can contact our US Collection Center at bruce@vineinternational.org - or by phone at (865) 380-0220.  There is seldom an economical way to send small amounts of aid to projects in Guatemala – from a few boxes to a few pallets – much less get them through the customs quagmire.  Vine can help with our Designated Shipping Program by consolidating those with our larger container shipments.  Once your items & packing list have been approved & you get them to our facility in Knoxville, we’ll get them to our facility in Guatemala for pick up by your designated project.  The cost – actually a requested donation – is reasonable.  Also, we obviously have restrictions as to what we can & cannot ship, along with other issues.  So please, make sure to thoroughly read our Designated Shipping Guidelines.  They may seem to be overkill, but they are necessary (from experience).  There’s nothing simple about shipping aid duty-free into developing countries.
  • If your project has specific medical equipment needs we may be able to point you in the right direction to resources in the US.  Keep in mind, more often than not – those items may need a budget to purchase good refurbished units.  Free is nice, but not always possible.  Contact our US office at woody@vineinternational.org – or (865) 690-6857.
  • If you have medical equipment in your mission project that needs servicing or repair, there are bio-med tech volunteers traveling in Guatemala sometimes 2-3 times a year.  Contact the Rice’s at the above number to discuss your need.
  • Vine’s Vitamin Project assists small to moderate orphanages & feeding programs with a high-quality children’s vitamin.  Larger ones typically have US funding resources, & we invite them to participate in our purchasing co-op with other ministries.  In short, we join together for price breaks from the manufacturer.  Contact our US office.
