Because the Pipeline is there – other projects work.
Vine Medical Teams – Because of Vine’s extensive network of co-workers throughout Guatemala, our medical teams have quite an adventure. Our philosophy is to expose our teams to as much of the culture as possible in 9 days. This means we hit the road running with our mobile clinics serving in multiple, sometimes remote areas - carrying an extensive pharmacy & typically treating 1,200+ people. Being a medical person is not required, since ½ the team is made up of support members. It’s a wonderful way to serve – earning the right to speak to spiritual issues by meeting physical needs.

Vine Vitamin Project – Because of Vine’s distribution capabilities, this project has been a wonderful fit – providing an annual supply of children’s multivitamins to orphanages & feeding programs. Over the years, the project has grown to currently donating over 1 million vitamins to over 30 different sites, providing over 3,000 kids with a strong, nutritional formula – called Vine Vites for Kids. Workers in developing countries know that nutrition is the first line of defense in healthcare – testifying as to why vitamins are our single largest request. Reports we receive encourage us to keep growing the project as more funding becomes available.
Disaster Relief – It’s said that the question is not “if” there will be another disaster, but “when” another one will hit Central America. Because of Vine’s distribution network, we’re in a unique position to help national & relief workers with aid. Through Hurricane Mitch in Honduras & Nicaragua, earthquakes in El Salvador, & Hurricane Stan in Guatemala, Vine has found its niche by locating smaller, underserved areas affected by a disaster – where we can make a major impact by supplying relief aid to co-workers already in-country.
Designated Shipping – Suppose someone wants to support a project they know about in Guatemala. The reality is there is no economical way to send a small shipment, much less get it through the customs quagmire. Because of Vine’s Pipeline, we’re able to consolidate those shipments with our larger container shipments – arriving directly into our warehouse in Guatemala - where the items can be received by the designated project – at a very low cost.
Biomed Technician Services – It’s one thing to get good, appropriate medical equipment into the field. It’s another thing to keep it working. In a partnership with MedEquip Missions, Guatemala has become a hands-on training ground for a multitude of mission-minded technicians specializing in this field. We may be exaggerating to make a point, but since 2004, there have been more US biomed techs working through Vine’s network of recipients, than the total over the past several decades. And then there are Vine-friends, like Samaritan’s Purse, who not only supply the equipment, but often go & help install it.
